New warehouse in Valencia reinforces TMD Friction’s commitment to the Spanish aftermarket and strengthens the company's capabilities in the region
TMD Friction, one of the world's leading manufacturers of brake friction solutions, reinforced its commitment to the Spanish market with the opening of a new warehouse in Valencia, which celebrated its inauguration on 10 March. This new infrastructure is a key strategic step for the company to strengthen its presence in the European aftermarket. With the commissioning of this facility, TMD Friction is aligning its logistics operations with market needs, ensuring greater flexibility and improved responsiveness for customers throughout Spain.
“The investment in the Valencia warehouse is a strategic step to strengthen our presence in the Iberian Peninsula. It allows us to improve delivery times, offer a more customer-focused service and demonstrate our long-term commitment to the Spanish market,” said Adrian Dulea, Director of Business Development, South-East Europe and Iberia.
A strategic boost for the Spanish market
With this new opening in Valencia, TMD Friction is accelerating its growth strategy in Spain, the third largest automotive manufacturing market in the European Union and one of the most dynamic in the spare parts sector. In Spain, the average vehicle age is around 14 years and more than 60% of vehicles are over ten years old. This context generates sustained demand for spare parts, especially in braking systems. In total, the Spanish independent spare parts market is estimated at around €6.8 billion per year, while the braking segment represents approximately €535 million within the independent market.
Thanks to this new warehouse, TMD Friction gains greater flexibility in distribution, improving the global availability of its passenger car brake products marketed under the prestigious and internationally recognised premium brand Textar. This will allow the company to be more competitive and offer even greater support to its customers.
A stronger foothold in Spain
This new facility complements the production activity that TMD Friction already carries out at its Valencia plant, which specialises in the manufacture of brake linings. The modern production plant is equipped with 1,101 solar panels on the roof, which in 2025 generated 11.7% of the energy consumed. Now, with the addition of a warehouse in the region, TMD Friction is consolidating its industrial and logistics ecosystem in the country.
An experiential inauguration to mark the future of the brand in Spain
To celebrate the opening of the new warehouse, TMD Friction organised an inauguration event that brought together TMD Friction executives, automotive industry professionals, road safety experts, customers and representatives from the aftermarket ecosystem. The event included a round table discussion with key players from the industry.
A reliable partner for dealers and workshops
Through brands such as Textar, TMD Friction offers the Spanish market premium OE quality braking solutions, backed by more than a century of engineering and development experience.
The company focuses its strategy on working closely with the main players in the market and coordinating with the largest national distribution groups, with the aim of generating value throughout its supply chain.
“The Spanish market is key to our European aftermarket strategy. The opening of this new logistics centre in Valencia is a clear sign of our commitment to the country and our ambition to become a benchmark player in the sector in Spain,” said Adrian Dulea. “Thanks to the dynamism of the Spanish market, we expect sustained growth in the coming years, with the aim of consolidating our footprint in the country and positioning ourselves as one of the main players in the sector.”
